About The Artist
Adam was born and raised in central Vermont. Years of drawing and painting as a childhood hobby led to the pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Studio Art at the University of Vermont. In his junior year, he discovered the joy of metalsmithing and jewelry design. During his last two years at UVM, Adam completed two internships with local jeweler Matthew Taylor and worked as a production assistant for Karen Klinefelter.
After graduating, Adam moved to Berkeley, California and attended the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco. While at Revere and while establishing his own studio, Adam worked as a studio assistant for Harriete Estel Berman in San Mateo, CA.
Currently Adam works out of his home in Berkeley, CA. His works are inspired by an interest in technology and his love of the outdoors. His process begins with one sketch that is repeated over and over with changes in sizes and shapes until a final design is realized. Even then, there are always changes during the actual creation of the piece. His works have a minimalist aesthetic that focuses on the form of the piece and the use of texture and finish to emphasise that form.
